Job Overview

Anthropic is hiring a Product Designer for its Growth team — the small design group working across all of Anthropic's products to help people discover what Claude can do and make it part of how they work. You will own how Claude grows with everyday users end to end: diagnosing what drives deep, habitual use and what blocks it, redesigning onboarding and first-run experiences, setting the vision for the area, and running experiments with product, engineering, and data science partners. This is a hybrid role in San Francisco, with staff expected in the office at least 25% of the time.

About the Role

Growth at Anthropic is about product-led growth: the team drives growth by making the product itself better, favoring foundational changes and new product experiences over small optimizations. Priorities span whatever most limits Anthropic's growth — from someone's first session with Claude to an entire company rolling out Claude — and can shift quickly. As a senior Product Designer on Growth, you will dig into why some people make Claude a habit and others don't, find the real bottlenecks, and lead the product changes that move them. You will prototype quickly with tools like Claude Code, form a clear point of view from messy signals, and drive alignment across teams to ship it. The employer is looking for designers who thrive in ambiguity and pair sharp diagnostic judgment with exceptional craft.

Responsibilities

  • Own growth for how people use Claude in their everyday work, end to end
  • Diagnose what drives deep, habitual use and what blocks it, combining data, research, and hands-on time in the product
  • Set an opinionated vision for the area and turn it into a roadmap with product, engineering, and data science partners
  • Redesign core parts of the product to drive growth, from onboarding and first-run experiences to everyday workflows
  • Shape hypotheses and experiments, and judge results with a nuanced view of how the team wins, not just the topline metric
  • Deliver exceptionally crafted interactions and set the quality bar for the area
  • Drive alignment with partner teams whose work touches the area, connecting individual use to team and company adoption
  • Mentor other designers and frame problems clearly enough that others can own them
  • Prototype and test ideas quickly with Claude Code and other AI tools

Requirements

  • A portfolio of shipped product design work that shows product vision and a high level of craft
  • Experience owning growth for a major product area end to end, including diagnosing problems and setting direction
  • Deep growth design experience in activation, onboarding, retention, engagement, or expansion, on a product at meaningful scale
  • Hands-on experience designing, launching, and interpreting experiments, and using them to make product decisions
  • Fluency with product analytics such as funnels, retention, and engagement
  • Proficiency with design, prototyping, and AI tools, such as Figma and Claude Code, and a habit of learning new tools
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience driving alignment across product, engineering, and data science

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading growth strategy across multiple teams or product areas
  • Experience designing enterprise/B2B SaaS, productivity, or collaboration tools
  • Experience with product-led growth, from a single user to a team to a company-wide rollout
  • Experience mentoring designers or shaping a design practice
  • Comfort querying data directly with SQL or a similar tool
  • Experience prototyping with front-end code (HTML/CSS/JS)
  • Passion for building safe, beneficial AI that helps people do their best work

Compensation

The employer lists an annual base salary range of $305,000 – $460,000 USD for this role.
